Register now for the sports tourism event !

Why not come and meet the public sector, as well as the private and voluntary players of the sports tourism industry ?

Join us on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th of September at the beautiful Palais  Beaumont in Pau (France).

At the foot of the Pyrenees, a mountain range with pioneering players committed to a transition in the mountain economic model, you will be taking part in a collective debate on sustainable sports tourism.

Two highlights :

Monday 11th September : an economic diagnosis with an overview of the most popular practices and those in the pipeline, thanks to the exclusive  presentation of an  Observatory by the UNION Sport & Cycle and a review of the summer season  (Summer Debrief).

Tuesday 12th September : roundtable discussions looking forward on the offers available in the sports tourism sector

At the heart of the topics will be the adaptation of sports tourism to climate change, and not just in the  mountains. This will of course be given pride of place with the question “Is there one or more economic models for the mountains ?”

Measuring the economic impact and carbon footprint of an event or destination will be on the agenda as well. As will the strong development of touring sports. We will be talking about cycle tourism, but not only that.

Finally, we will address the themes of  occasional or permanent over-visiting of sites and the management of conflicts of use with a view to providing constructive  solutions to these problems on the ground.
